Detailed, Plausible, WordyOct 20, 2009
There is so much going on in this book it's easy to get lost unless you've done your homework. This is not the typical JFK assassination book. This book focuses on the why, who and how and spends little time on the act itself. In the mid 80's I was introduced to this topic and by the late 80's had absorbed quite a bit of material. Based on the books, articles, eyewitness accounts and actual testimony from the Warren Commission's volumes I decided that the Mafia and somehow the CIA was involved. This was a common conclusion by people who just couldn't swallow the "official" story since so much pointed toward conspiracy. The problem was the only way for it to truly make sense was that the FBI and some other key elements of the government, including his own brother, had to assist in either a cover up or prevention of a complete and full investigation. That's where most people have their struggles in accepting conspiracy in this case. No way all those people could work together or at least against the discovery of a conspiracy, especially his own brother. With so much pointing to a bigger story than Oswald acting alone I figured someday we might find out what that was, but I wasn't holding my breath. For all those parties to have acted with the same basic goal of not allowing the truth to come out it must have been something big. Without doubt this is the most plausible of scenarios and the general concept itself so perfectly describes why the true investigation of the death of JFK could not be completed and why even his brother would have to be involved with the immediate aftermath. There is more basis in fact regarding the Why than in anything else I've ever seen. I've never understood the shear desperation that the Mafia bosses found themselves in that they would attempt something so bold and how they expected to get away with it. There is still much to be discovered about all this but we'll never know all the details. I'm satisfied that my beliefs have been validated as close as they likely ever will be. It seems clear that due to the complexity involved no one person would ever be able to provide all the details start to finish about the assassination of JFK. The authors present their findings as absolute truth but don't declare the case to be closed like the hack Gerald Posner, who's book often borders on fiction. In the early 90's over 60% of Americans believed in a conspiracy, I think around 25% in Oswald and the rest undecided. I have a feeling a lot of the undecided's would vote for conspiracy now that we are presented with a plausible explanation to tie up some of the loose ends many people had questions about. The simplest explanation is not always the answer as I think the authors prove out in this book.

If you are not convinced by the line of reasoning presented in this book you can still enjoy the book on the level of a thriller. It contains page after page of details about the anti-Castro groups of the time, and pages of disclosures recently declassified.
At the very least you might be convinced (as I was) tha Lee Harvey Oswald was a patsy in a much larger scheme of violence and politics. I had recently watched a tv presentation that assured us that it was the "lone gunman" Oswald and to rest assured there was never any conspiracy.
However, even I, just an ordinary person could see there was something missing in their explanation. This book fills in the gaps for me. You'll have to read it and decide for yourself.

I found this book to be very difficult to read due to all of the detail and repeated comments and side issues that I'm sure were important to the authors but I don't need. I can't question the accuracy of the information as there are a host of references but I would have preferred it to be condensed from the 800 pages to half that.

Here are some questions to ask yourself:
1) First who changed Kennedy's route that day from straight down
the highway with no close quarters with tall buildings to one
that led him into a very hazardous situation of stop, right turn,
near stop and left turn just prior to the deadly shots in full
scope view of two large buildings with apparently no security
and unfortunately a fence behind which was a clear and unobstructed
escape route. The mafia alone did not have this power nor Castro.
LBJs security detail did and apparently made this change.
2) Little hole in neck and entire back of head blown off means bullet
from the front which would become far from "pristine" in the process.
Ask any hunter or cop.
3) Who ordered stand-down of the military advance security team ?
Even the CIA and FBIcould not have done that. They were military.
Is there anyone left who does not know that the CIA has a boss and
his name is DIRNSA (Director National Security Agency)? Does anyone
not know that NSA is essentially headed by the military ?
4) Why did the President's car come to a near stop seconds
before the final shot ?
5) Why did Johnson duck down in his car seconds before the final shot ?
6) There are other questions. I wish Jackie had of insisted on staying
in plain sight of the body at all times. There is evidence it was
monkeyed with.
7) Was the Mafia involved? Seems to be the clearest footprints around.
Yes they were motivated because of Bobby's punishing and successful
prosecution of more high level Organized crime figures than all the
rest of history combined. Yet, they miss many of the elements of
control to pull this off per the above. Also they would want Castro
overthrown more than anyone else because he took the C5 aircrafts they
gave him, said thank you very much, and then booted them out of Cuba.
They lost far more that the cola and sugar firms that loved Nixon so.
My considered belief is that the Mafia was recruited by the real
murderous traitors who killed Kennedy to serve as the painting on top
of the real painting beneath. Too convenient. Same for Oswald.

Who had motive:
- Castro was not motivated despite the attempts to assasinate him.
Kennedy was trying to establish normal relations with Castro and
with the Soviet Union and to pull out of Vietnam. Who likes war ?
The military and the military industrial complex who head DIRNSA
and the CIA
- The FBI which was also known by one name HOOVER. The bad blood
between Kennedy's and Hoover is legendary.
- The CIA hated and feared Kennedy because they moved ahead on
operation Mongoose implemented by Nixon and other conservative
Repuplicans from Texas who later became presidents. Kennedy was
openly hostile to the CIA for good reason and threatened to spread
them to the winds.
- LBJ and the HOOVER were great buddies being two peas of the same pod.
Anyone not know of LBJ's reputation to do whatever it took to get
his way ? Anyone not know that LBJ and the Kennedy's were not buddies ?
Anyone not know LBJ wanted to be King and would settle for President ?
- Finally, does anyone not know that we turned over the power to issue
currency over to a cabel of bankers with little concern for anyone but
themselves ? Kennedy was the second president to try to buck the
bankers in ordering the US Treasury to print the first US Government
printed currency in decades. It would seem he had plans for them
as well. The Creature of Jeckell and Hide Island..... I mean Jeckell
Island. (pun)

I have written to those surrounding Nixon at the time of Operation Mongoose
and in the Watergate affair. I have asked them for the
good of their own souls to confess what they know before they die
as Hell is noplace you want to go. Has anyone wondered what Nixon
wanted so badly as to risk a move that unseated him ?
