Description:

It's time to revolutionize the way you think about dieting!

Bestselling author Brenda Watson shares the remarkable secret that helped her take charge of her health and change her life forever. Now you can do the same!

The Fiber35 Diet will show you how to lose weight and improve your health by taking advantage of the extraordinary health benefits of fiber.

In recent decades, a change has taken place in America. In contrast to the fiber-rich fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains once prevalent in our diet, we now consume an overwhelming number and amount of processed foods filled with refined sugars and harmful trans fats. As a result, we have almost completely stripped our diet of what is quite possibly the most beneficial nutrient on the planet.

In addition to helping prevent many of the major diseases of our time -- including diabetes, heart disease, and cancer -- fiber helps to increase satiety, reduce hunger, and actually decrease caloric intake.

The Fiber35 Diet will show you how getting 35 grams of fiber every day is the key to losing weight and staying healthy for life. Unlike many of the low-carbohydrate, high-protein diets that currently saturate the market, the Fiber35 Diet is based on scientifically verified techniques clinically proven to help you lose weight. Most important, this diet corrects one of the most dangerous falsehoods of our time: that carbohydrates are bad. The Fiber 35 Diet teaches you a lifetime eating system that helps you shed pounds safely and effectively.

This book includes:

  • Straightforward, easy-to-understand concepts that have been researched in detail and clinically proven.
  • A personalized weight loss formula based on how many pounds you want to lose.
  • Recommendations about dietary supplements and nutritious food choices.
  • Healthful and fiber-rich recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
  • A comprehensive strength and cardio training program designed to help you maintain your ideal body weight.

Twenty years ago, author Brenda Watson was overweight, chronically tired, and battling constant health problems. Today she inspires hundreds of thousands of people just like you with her story of personal transformation. By starting the Fiber35 Diet, you are taking the first step on your own journey.

3Fiber 35 Diet ...Just What I ExpectedNov 15, 2009
This is a no nonsense approach to weight loss diet that although may be written a little too clinically, should do what it says. I'm not so sure how new it is...alot of common sense stuff and a few things I actually disagree with, but, all in all, a fair work.

I would liked to have seen more testimonials (with before and after pictures) where people were enthusiastic about this plan.

I like the recipe section and the guide telling how much fiber is in the foods.

I am hoping that the book is right about eating the right things to keep the cravings down... I'll let you know:)

3Common sense sells.Aug 28, 2009
Brenda Watson, The Fiber35 Diet: Nature's Weight Loss Secret (Free Press, 2007)

I knew it would eventually happen--in an age where we've had decades of quirky, contrarian diet books (how else to explain the low-carb revolution?), eventually we'd get to the point where someone would write a classic diet book and have it hailed as something revolutionary. Welcome to The Fiber35 Diet, a book that basically tells you exactly what people have been saying about weight loss since fat people first started appearing in droves, and people read it and say "what is this wonderful new idea?". Well, I'll tell you: eat more fruits and vegetables, and reduce the number of calories you take in, and you'll lose weight. Genius, right? It's common sense packaged in book form. Which should be making you ask "why do I need to buy the book?".

In a word, recipes. The first half of the book tells you stuff you already know (well, some of it you probably only know if you're as oddly drawn to some infomercials as I seem to be). The second half tells you how to put it into action, and gives you some recipes that mostly take traditional dishes and bulk up the fiber. (I'll be making the vegetable bean chili tonight, actually.) Good stuff, some of it even inventive for diet book recipes.

There is a downside, of course, as there usually is, and that is that following the plan laid out here, if you follow it completely, can be prohibitively expensive. Watson recommends colon cleansing along with increasing your fiber intake, and the cheapest decent colon cleansing regimen will set you back fifty bucks or so. Add in the various supplements and health-food-store-only ingredients, and you're looking at a six-figure income in order to be able to afford this. Thankfully, it's not all entirely necessary; after all, supplements are supplements, and they don't, in general, contain things you can't get by quirking your diet here and there. (Granted, fresh fruits and vegetables will cost you more at the store than processed crap, but compared to the costs of the supplements, a couple of extra heads of cauliflower and a few more carrots will seem like a bargain.)

So, yeah, take it all with a grain of salt, but you can't really go wrong with common sense. *** ½

4Increase your fiber, but 35 grams?May 09, 2009
SInce reading this book, I have increased my fiber to about 20-25 grams and I feel MUCH better. Before I would be starving every 2-3 hours-practically hypoglycemic, now I can go 4-5 hours between high fiber, low calories meals. I also don't "crash" anymore.

The author is a fan of substituting meals with shakes and bars, though-which I really don't like. I would rather take my fiber from fruits, veggies and whole wheat and thus I find it difficult to reach 35 grams a day. Especially since I am only 5'2 and 120lbs. I honestly just CAN't eat that much fiber. I am too full.

It does suppress appetite, but it does cause a lot of GI problems, and I ended up having severe intestinal problems, and had to stop. I would caution anyone if they are to start with this program, to start slowly and be sure to consider a GI cleanse product that goes with it, to hopefully avoid any gastrointestinal complications.
