In this short board book by award winning actor, author, and comedian Billy Crystal, a grandfather eagerly awaits the arrival of his granddaughter. Told in simple rhyme, we read along as grandpa anticipates meeting this new daughter of his daughter's.
From the joy of that first moment of seeing a new grandbaby, to the excitement of teaching her to fish, fly a kite, tie her shoes, and taking her to see her first movie, the anticipation and love shine through bright and clear.
This would be the perfect gift for any soon-to-be grandfather, or a book simply to be enjoyed by young children.

We recently lost our "papa" so this was a bit hard. A great book for a grandpa who loves their child but not for us sadly. Great book otherwise!!

This book is one that all grandparents should read to their grandchildren. It is about the anticipation and excitement of knowing that your grandchild is on the way. There are descriptions of all the things that the grandparent plans on doing with their grandchild and is a demonstration of love and caring across the generations. I cannot recommend this book enough and plan on reading it my grandchildren when they are old enough to understand it.
Sweet book for new grandparentsFeb 20, 2009
What a sweet picture book about all the things an expectant grandparent can't wait to do with their new grandchild! I bought this book for my parents, who are about to become first-time grandparents. I cry every time I read it, because I can just picture my parents reading it to my daughter after she's born. Some of the phrases are a little akward in an attempt to make them rhyme, but overall it's a lovely story with beautiful pictures.
