I really enjoyed this book. Her story is fun and the pictures are warm and inviting. I dont know if i could layer as much as ms pearl, mostly because the upkeep and cleaning from dust etc would be too much, but i got a lot of good idea's for decorating on a less grand scale. beautifully done.

I looked all over for this book, and of course Amazon had it!! Thrilled! I had seen Robins work in the country magazines several times, and cut out the pages to save them, thinking I could try and copy her style. Very tough. Years of expertise. Then she put everything in a book. It takes you into another world, in the heart of the Texas highcountry. Very different, her pictures put you right in the scene, and she takes you on a journey, and teaches you how she makes everything, including the furniture. Bohemian, eclectic, beautiful!!

While I like Victorian elements, as well as the artsy look of Bohemain decor...I felt rather dizzy looking at this book. I enjoyed the stories written by the author, and she is rather unique in her own way...but this much clutter is not useful in today's homes even if you adore vintage. The real pretty pieces get lost in a mountain of fabric.

I was simply amazed at each and every turn of the page. To say Robin's style is unique is an understatement! Bold yet soft, vintage yet modern, the list could go on and on. I have nothing but admiration for this magical woman.
She's a true artist and her home and style reflect that perfectly. I only wish I could be more like that - I kept thinking about the practicality of it all like how on earth do you clean an ancient tapestry, can you really live with antique upholstered pieces outside, etc. Love the look, wish I could live with it, but just couldn't. On the other hand, if I ever win the lottery, my first purchase might just be one of her to-die-for bags!
